Our Story
My name is Chris, founder and president.
I grew up surrounded by the harsh realities of poverty and addiction. As an addict, I often found myself without a permanent roof over my head, moving from place to place, never knowing where my next meal would come from. But even in the darkest moments, I held onto hope. Hope that things would get better, hope that I would break the cycle of addiction, hope that I could create a different life for myself.
That hope fueled my journey. I worked hard, seizing every opportunity that came my way. I surrounded myself with positive influences, people who believed in me even when I struggled to believe in myself. And slowly but surely, I began to build a better life.
But as I climbed the ladder of success, I never forgot where I came from. I carried the memories of my struggles with me, and I knew I had to give back. That's when the vision for Hope Makers Outreach was born in 2018.
Hope Makers is more than just an organization - it's a beacon of light for those still trapped in the cycle of addiction and homelessness. We provide not just the basic necessities like food and clothing, but also the tools and resources needed to break free from that cycle.
Through Hope Makers, I'm able to pay forward the blessings I've received. I'm able to show others that no matter how dark things may seem, there is always hope. And I'm able to prove that with determination and the right support, anyone can overcome their circumstances and build a better life.
My story is one of struggle and triumph, of addiction and prosperity. But most importantly, it's a story of hope. And through Hope Makers Outreach, I'm honored to be a part of writing the next chapter in the stories of those we serve.
Our Mission
"Hope Makers Outreach serves the unsheltered and unhoused neighbors across the Phoenix Metropolitan area in Maricopa County, offering nourishment, essential items, and hope to those facing disparities in accessing food and basic resources. Our mission is to meet people where they are, providing not only nourishing meals, but also clothing and hygiene supplies, ensuring every person feels valued, regardless of mental health challenges or substance misuse. By combating stigma, we create a path toward restoration, fostering a sense of community, dignity, and belonging. Through nourishing both body and spirit, and providing essential items, Hope Makers Outreach aims to spark positive change and help guide our neighbors toward a brighter future."
